One way we can shift greater economic and political power back to our local communities so that national policies on nuclear weapons are closer to what the people want is through consciously buying from locally-owned businesses. These numbers show how fast any community can gain political and economic power, the kind that can make our values heard about things as important as nuclear weapons.

    this is very true— we are a greater force together — let’s put our money where our mouth is— if we want more jobs then we need to stop shopping at kohls, Walmart, Target etc!!

    I never imagined that it would make such a big difference where I buy my detergent. I don’t really know of local shops that carry the necessities I need unfortunately.

    wonderful to know this info, we do have so much power to shape our own lives in this country but unfortunately seldom exercise it
